Stainless steel can remove odors.

Did you know that you can remove odors from fish, onions, garlic etc., from your hands by rub your hands across the blade of a stainless steel knife?
I don't have scientific evidence how stainless steel can removes odors. But, nothing bad happens if you will try this. I learned this brilliant Idea from my lola (my grandmother) when I was 11 years old she instructed me to slice 14 pieces of onion and after that, I cannot remove the bad smell in my hand, she told me that rub your hands across the stainless steel knife carefully to remove the odors, then wash your hands with water.

In the absence of plausible chemical explanations of why this may work, or experiments using controls, it is unknown whether the stainless steel soap is actually effective.

Stainless steel consists of mainly iron and chromium, and contains a thin layer of chromium (III) oxide on its surface. Metal oxides are Lewis acids and readily catalyze oxidations. Iron and chromium oxides can be used as oxidation catalysts, effective for industrial-scale oxidation of odorous reduced sulfur compounds at a temperature of 180 C. For this to occur to begin with, the compounds must adsorb on the metal oxide surface. Chromium (III) may also act as an adsorbent only. Another plausible [citation needed] explanation is that a thin layer of grease, containing the odorous compounds, is rubbed off mechanically onto the steel surface.

There are similar applications, such as stainless steel discs in shoes and dishwashers, that claim to absorb odors.

Why and how Onions make us Cry?

When we sliced or cut an onion, we break cells, allowing enzymes called alliinases to break down amino acid sulphoxides and generate sulfinic acids. Amino acid sulfoxides form sulfenic acids.

Sulphenic acids are unstable and spontaneously rearrange into a volatile gas called syn-propanediol-S-oxide. The gas diffuses through the air and eventually reaches the eye, where it reacts with the water to form a diluted solution of sulphuric acid. This acid irritates the nerve endings in the eye, making them sting. Tear glands produce tears to dilute and flush out the irritant.

Cooking the onion inactivates the enzyme, so while the smell of cooked onions may be strong, it doesn't burn our eyes.

Aside from wearing safety goggles or running a fan, we can keep from crying by refrigerating our onion or soak in water for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting them, we can also cut onions under water, so slows reactions and changes the chemistry inside the onion.

The sulfur-containing compounds also leave a characteristic odor on your fingers. You may be able to remove or reduce some of the smell by wiping your fingers on a stainless steel odor soap.

How can I find my Computer Specifications?

Here's is the easily steps:
I. Right click on "my computer" >  properties

Click on the "hardware" tab.
Click on "device manager

OR

II. Click Start > All programs > Accessories > system tools > system information.
(This might be all you need right here)

For Graphics click start or type > run (into search bar) > type dxdiag > click ok.
If it comes up a message first click yes> then up at the top of the tabs click Display.

For RAM, CPU information and clock speed follow the same steps above but instead of clicking on Display click on System.

For Hard Drive space go to start  > my computer > right click local disk (C: )

> properties- then it will tell you your used and free computer hard drive space.

**Hope I could help. Thanks for visit.**

Computer Specifications

You are wondering maybe like me before what the specs of computer you are going to buy, or may be wondering what all this CPU, RAM, ROM, 24X, 128MB, SPEED, MODEL, etc.

If there are any specific programs that you know and you want to run, such as a gaming, digital imaging or designing or you need a computer for animation, you have to verify what the system you need to buy meets those requirements.
Have you thought below contents, what is about, what the goal and what is this?
Contents:
1 -Processor Speed
2 -RAM
3 -Processor Make and Model
4 -Hard Drive
5 -CD/DVD Drives
6 -Graphics Card
7 -Sound Card
8 -Software

Processor Speed
  • The measure how quickly the  central processing unit or CPU (aka the microprocessor) performance or speed depends on e.g. the clock rate and the instructions per clock (IPC), which together are the factors for the instructions per secon (IPS) that the CPU can perform.
  • The speed of the CPU is how fast the CPU can access and process information, which translates to how fast you can work on your computer.
  • CPU is like the brain of the computer. If you want the machine to think quickly, you need to have a fast processor or clock speed.
  • The greater the number of GHz the faster the PC and the more expensive the processor will be.
RAM
  • RAM (Random Access Memory), manyt times just called memory, is a form of computer data storage.
  • RAM works with the CPU to manage all your open programs and improve the speed at which each process can run.
  • In earliest time RAM is usually measured in megabytes (MB) but today gigabytes (GB) are appearing on the market.
  • Most basic computers will come with at least 256 MB of RAM and most users will want at least 512MB, while gamers and people who do graphic-intensive work (photo, business, editing, etc.) will want at least 1024MB (1 GB).
  • But computers now have 2 to 4 GB of RAM.

Processor Make and Model

  • Gigahertz vs Megahertz
    1 Gigahertz(GHz) = 1000 Megahertz = 1000000Hertz
and one hertz is the equivalent of processing a single piece of information.
  • Ten years ago computers had processors running at 10Megahertz. Now we have computers running at faster than 3 GHz ie 300 times faster.
  • Check below name and links for sample:
Athlon AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Processor Socket 939

Forget about their names, just go for the highest speed processor or better
make your own search) visit CNET for more details

Hard Drive
  •  A hard disk drive (hard disk, ard drive, HDD) is a non-volatile storage device for digital data. It features one or more rotating rigid platters on a motor-driven spindle within a protective enclosure. Data is encoded magnetically by read/write heads that float on a cushion of air above the platters. (read more from wikipedia)
  • It is now measured in gigabytes (GB), although terrabyte (TB, equal to 1000 GB) external drives are just starting to become widely available. Half-TB (500 GB) external drives are common.
  • Today's minimum requirement is least 120 GB for average users who want to store music or photos on their computers. Of course you can go as high as you want if you are willing to spend the money on large drives or multiple drives.
  • Large drives are good if you plan to store your DVD and music collections on a computer and use it as a media center.
(I advice that don't use 1TB for personal storage, use 3X or buy 3 500 GB or it's up to you, I'm telling only to avoiding viruses) Search Amazon.com for hard drive

CD/DVD Drives
  • If you plan to burn anything, check for an integrated DVD/CD-R/CD-RW drive.
  • Some offer CD burners only (CD-Recordable or CD-ReWriteable), and others offer both a CD-RW plus the ability to watch DVDs
  • Check this: Search Amazon.com for cd dvd drive
Graphics Card
  • A video card, video adapter, graphics accelerator card, display adapter, or graphics card is an expansion card whose function is to generate output images to a display.
  • A video card enables a computer to process and display images on a monitor. It does this by converting binary data into images. Software that displays graphics requires a video card with certain specifications.
  • Higher processor speeds are needed, as is more memory.
  • Check for system requirements and compatibility between programs/games that you plan to use before buying a computer.Search Amazon.com for Graphics Card
Sound Card
  • A sound card (also known as an audio card) is a computer expansion card that facilitates the input and output of audio signals to and from a computer under control of computer programs. Typical uses of sound cards include providing the audio component for multimedia applications such as music composition, editing video or audio, presentation, education, and entertainment (games). Many computers have sound capabilities built in, while others require additional expansion cards to provide for audio capability.
  • If you are interested in watching DVDs or playing games with surround sound, or even getting a rich audio experience from CDs and MP3s, you will want a sound card that is up to snuff. However, sound cards are fairly easy to upgrade.
(Sound card is only as good as the speakers.)
    Search Amazon.com for sound card
Software
  • Computer software, or just software, is the collection of computer programs and related data that provide the instructions telling a computer what to do. We can also say software refers to one or more computer programs and data held in the storage of the computer for some purposes. Program software performs the function of the program it implements, either by directly providing instructions to the computer hardware or by serving as input to another piece of software. The term was coined to contrast to the old term hardware (meaning physical devices).
  • Most often software bundles come at an extra cost, such as those for managing finances, editing images and even doing word processing.
  • Every hardware has a software installer to run the program.  See example: Search Amazon.com for software
